Things That Are Happening

Hey guys. Today I finished an amazing book called The Catcher in the Rye.
Here are some of the reasons I like it.

  • Holden is definitely NOT normal- Kind of crazy, but in a good way.
  • He tells about people as they really are, and it makes the book comical.
  • It's not a cheesy or dramatic book with action and suspense and blabbitty blah blah blah. It's real.

So if you get a chance, this is a book worth reading.

So now that I'm done with that book, I'm now reading something else that seems like it could be interesting. It's called Somebody Everybody Listens To by Suzanne Supplee.

I always pick up a book if it has a guitar on it  ------->

I'll tell you what I think about it when I finish reading.

After this I'll probably read Walden by Thoreau. (Dad's been wanting me to read it).

I'm one of those people that judges a book by its cover (not metaphorically but literally). I really won't want to pick a book up if its cover isn't all that nifty or if I haven't heard anything about it.
I know, I know. I'm missing out on some good books, but that's just the way I am. Sue me. (For all of you out there that take things a little TOO literally, please don't really sue me. Please and thanks!)

Anyway, that's enough with the book stuff.

In Gym, you would have thunk I'd have gotten used to get hit with the ball in any ball-related sports (basketball, football, etc.) And you would have thunk that I would be prepared for it. But still, as I was getting my jersey on for indoor soccer, smart old me thought that I would have the reflexes to ninja kick the ball away whenever it came at me....WRONG! The ball hit me in the neck and the arm and, let's just say, I was a nervous wreck.
I am not, in any way, someone you would call athletic. Or graceful, for that matter. Here's a picture to describe me.

There's a reason my parents didn't name me Grace. Really, it's a wonder I'm able to make it through the day without causing some disaster.  If you see me anywhere, duck and cover...Just duck and cover.

          Anyway-
Three more days until Spring Break...I'm so excited! Mom and Dad said that they're taking us to Golden Corral (the best buffet in the world-just saying). The best part about Spring Break is sleeping in. Not all day (that seems like wasting time when there's so much else to do) but sleeping in past six at least (darn you school!).

So, I don't know if you know this, but I love to draw. I haven't in a while, though. But here's one of my favorites I've done:

The title is from Sixx A.M.'s Dead Man's Ballet.

The picture is from My Chemical Romance's video, Helena.

The thing is, I really can only draw something if I'm looking at it. I need a basic idea of what I'm doing, but then I just add on what I like.

I'll show you more drawings next time. :)

Well, that was a pretty long blog. Wish I could keep going but it's almost my bed-time. Night!
